“A classic California Merlot with good acidity and moderate tannins. Beautiful ruby red color, bright raspberry fruit, and mild vanilla flavors from the oak barrel aging. Firm mouth feel from the 13.5% alcohol content. The wine has excellent balance of fruit, acid, tannins and oak flavor components. vMv Merlot would fit nicely into any traditional Merlot food pairing, but would especially enhance roast beef or prime rib entrees or sandwiches, grilled salmon, pasta dishes, smoked cheeses and chocolate desserts. The wine opened up a bit more when kept in a partially filled bottle overnight, increasing its complexity, leading me to believe that it will continue to improve in the bottle for another 2 to 4 years.”
